Especially in tournaments "Shihai" striving for no injuries with minimum contact ( NOT IMPACT WHICH CREATES INJURIES

underprivilaged karate-ka aswell those that really value the high level of his teachings. His brilliant demonstration of defense,

This was even more special because we had our development dojo that TSKA assists with the entries, take part and win 8 medals

TSKAis proud to compete under the Shotokan rules that Master Hidetaka Nishiyama 1928-2007 founded in 1950's. Our Goal is to keep Traditional Shotokan Karate strong with its values of the Five maximums Character, Sincerity, Effort,, Etiquette, Self-control.

 The SKA a platform is proud to be fully democratic and strives to uplift society in all ways.

Saturday 18 March 2017 from  9am to 3pm

The training with Sensei Kwiecinski 8th Dan MD and Witold European Kata champion , this was  a great success with over 200 allstyles karate-ka from South Africa, 6 hours of training with the best instructor (possibly in Europe) from Poland . On the Day we had presentations on Martial Arts and Traditional Karate-do, training, meals , matches with rubber staff and sword. All at no cost ,sponsored by ODEK. This took place Saturday 18 March 2017 from  9am to 3pm , at the New Tramway building Port Elizabeth, South Africa .

Well done to all Karate-ka, Sensei and many thanks to the Referees , Judges and table officials.

The official line-up of the 2nd league of 2016 with

technical head and all his assistant Judges and Referees

that have been trained and developed into competent officials

through the involvement with the SKA.

 

The line-up of the karate-ka eagerly awaiting to go and prove their kata ability and skill in kumite. Karate -ka as young as 5 years old competed for the first time, starting their journey to future champions.

Great Kumite skills were demonstrated on the day with very good control.

 

Enbu ( Choreographed fight sequence ) Demonstration by Xander Barkhuizen and Shane Hall. These two students will have the wonderful opportunity to go and showcase their karate at the World Traditional Karate-do Federation World Championships in Poland in October

A total of 150 karate-ka competed on Saturday and we sincerely hope new friendships were formed

Children are the future and we as Sensei's should help them to build and uphold the 5 maximums of karate in their journey to adulthood.

Please note !!!!  that from the start "2014" the Shotokan Karate Alliance has been a development tournament .

Developing student to build them up  with confidence and rewarding instead of breaking down.

We do not disqualify kata contestants for leaving a move out " as it might in some division give no results" each time

a deduction of 0.1 (one point) is deducted from the total score.

Only when contestant stops and does not continue with they be disqualified with a X

( Only exception is with the beginner groups ). Please study SCORE GUIDE ABOVE

It is with great excitement that I send out our invitations for the 1st League of the Shotokan Karate Alliance for 2015.

We all had a wonderful 2014 year of fellowship in the Shotokan Karate Alliance and we can all just strive to improve on our success of last year.

Once again points will be earned at each of the Four leagues and the overall winner will receive their overall medals at the end of the year function.

3rd Shotokan Karate Alliance , leaque tournament for the year with great success

in the Humerail Hall 27 September. The standard of the competitors could be seen from the positive

interaction between Shotokan dojos with great Spirit in the Nelson Mandela Bay Region.

The working to improve with courses at no costs on refereeing, judging, tables staff and karate-ka outdoor training events.

Despite the bad weather there was a good turnout at the 3rd outdoor training Shotokan Karate Alliance classes where given with no cost by Sensei's Chris Mance, Tony Williams, Werner van Staden , Mike Ndube and his senior student Dubesie, 60 karate-ka training in beautiful Settlers Park Port Elizabeth "In the Valley"23 August 2014. Great success with 2nd - Shotokan Karate Alliance, League tournament held at Pieter Rademeyer Hall - Algoa Park -

Port Elizabeth - 7 June 2014. 12 Dojos entering with excellent performances from the youngest to the men’s and ladies

open division of kata “individual and team” and kumite. Well done to all and Sensei's Alta " Manager" and Chris Mance "Chief technical advisor" and Chief referee Mike Ndube. The Shotokan Karate Alliance platform is growing in strength all the time

with the goal of improving Shotokan karate in the region in all communities.

The training was held at the Mance Karate Centre with no charge

This training was to train and understand and apply the value of Shotokan basic techniques to be applied at SKA tournaments.
These tournament rules where created by senior students of Shotokan founder Master Gichin Funakoshi in 1929. These rules will be used in the 1st Shotokan Karate Alliance League Tournament 1stMarch 2014 at Humerail Hall , Port Elizabeth.
